A Break with Charity is one of the best books I've ever read in my entire live. I am 13, and very much interested in history, especially the Salem Witch Trials. This book was just amazing. Ann Rinaldi did outstanding with the book, it deserves some kind of reward! This book is so interesting, intriguing, and has a constant flow of something happening, the book doesn't just drag on and on like some do. I recommend this book to everyone, and I really wish I could meet Ann Rinaldi, and tell her just how much I adore this book. So accurate on the history of the Salem Witch Trials too.
My son chose this book, and I thought why not. I was hooked. Never read anything about this time in Salem, couldn't believe how much of this is true. Also love the spin the author added. Really enjoyed reading this.
A great well written book on the horrible Ignorance that was amoung the people back then. What a bunch of idiots and even though its been proven that No one has any kind of "harry potter" power wand laying around, people still believe in the idea of real humans having some kind of real power they can not physically possess.
I bought this for my 11 year old daughter who is a voracious, advanced reader. She really enjoyed it and commented twice while reading it on how good it was.
I love this book. I am NOT a book reader, but decided to give this book a chance because I love reading about the history around the Salem Witch Trials. I loved that this book was a great mixture between fiction and nonfiction, and that at the very end the author explains which parts she found in research and which parts she added to make the story great. Great read!
The most intriguing part of this book was the author's explanation of how she intertwined fictional characters and fictional events with true life individuals. Read an interesting novel that developed into true life drama to explain the mindset of Puritans of the past.
Good book
A very well-written story about the Salem witch trials. A little bit of fact mixed with a little bit of fiction made for an enjoyable read for me. Recommended to a friend and she liked it a lot also. A nice, easy read, able to finish it in just a few days.
