This would be quite useful to a lay person wanting to learn a little medical terminology. It provides a good breakdown of medical terms, their Latin and Greek origins, their meanings and their uses. There are helpful sections for acronyms, homonyms and eponyms. All in all, a handy tool. The reason for 3 stars and not 5 is twofold: 1) the general usage and grammar of the whole book sound like the author's first language may not be English (or British, as he refers to the language.) I recieved this book for free as a promotion. This book does go over medical terms but it does not break down all of the terms. It's a good book if you just need an overview of some medical terms.
